Creped film – flexible and durable technical protection

Creped film is a specialized technical material widely used in the production of adhesive tapes and sealing systems, as well as in the construction and industrial sectors. Its characteristic feature is its corrugated, wavy surface – known as crepe – which gives the film exceptional flexibility and increased resistance to mechanical damage.

Dolpap offers both classic and silicone-coated creped film, a technical material with an embossed structure and an additional silicone layer. This coating provides the anti-adhesive properties required in many industrial and assembly processes.

What distinguishes creped film?

Creped film manufactured by Dolpap is made from high-quality PP (polypropylene). Available variants have a thickness of 30 µm or 35 µm, allowing the material to be selected for specific applications. The film is available in white and black, and its structure makes it ideal for irregular surfaces and difficult applications.

Thanks to a silicone coating (applied on one side), the material becomes silicone-coated creped film, retaining its non-stick properties. These versions are produced using solventless and UV technologies, ensuring high coating stability and consistent product properties.

Main applications of Dolpap creped film

1. Industrial tape production

One of its main application areas is the production of adhesive tapes, including:

  • butyl tapes – used, among other things, for sealing roofs and facades,
  • insulation and transfer tapes – for the construction and assembly sectors,
  • ridge tapes – used for chimney and ventilation flashing,
  • polyurethane and bituminous tapes – used as waterproofing components.

In these applications, the film serves as a liner – a protective layer that protects the adhesive surface from dirt, moisture, and premature adhesion. Thanks to its crepe structure and silicone coating, the material peels off easily during application, does not stretch, and does not delaminate.

2. Construction and roofing industry

Butyl film in the form of silicone-coated crepe works perfectly as a release and protective layer in the production of:

  • torch-on roofing membranes,
  • bitumen shingles,
  • roofing and waterproofing tapes,
  • repair components for roofs and foundations.

Its resistance to tar, moisture, and weather conditions makes it suitable for the most demanding outdoor conditions.

3. Technical and automotive industry

In the technical and automotive industries, creped film functions as:

  • a spacer or separator layer in the assembly and packaging of components,
  • a protective film for painted and delicate surfaces,
  • a backing in the production of laminates or self-adhesive materials used in vehicles.

Properties and advantages of creped film

Dolpap creped films are distinguished by a range of key features that make them valued by manufacturers:

  • flexibility – thanks to its corrugated structure, the material adapts perfectly to curved surfaces,
  • high mechanical resistance – the corrugated surface increases durability and tensile strength,
  • silicone coating – ensures easy release and protection of the adhesive layer,
  • resistance to grease, oils, tar, and water – ideal for demanding conditions,
  • dimensional stability – it does not wrinkle or curl during application,
  • various colors and widths – can be tailored to the requirements of a specific production process.

The films are manufactured in widths from 30 mm to 1600 mm and can be supplied as rolls or die-cuts.

Film type and configuration options

Dolpap offers full material customization. In addition to selecting the color (white or black) and thickness (30 or 35 micrometers), the customer may choose:

  • the type of silicone coating (e.g., different release forces – easy release, controlled release),
  • the coating technology (solventless or UV),
  • the converting format (rolls, die-cuts, spools),

additional technical printing (e.g., batch numbers, production-line markings).

Additional services

Dolpap is not only a manufacturer of technical materials, but also a provider of comprehensive services such as:

  • coating (papers and films with silicone or polyethylene),
  • cutting and converting to any size,
  • printing on technical materials,
  • laboratory testing, enabling control of adhesion, thickness, and material quality.

Thanks to many years of experience and an extensive machine park, the company can fulfill both standard and non-standard orders.

Who is creped film intended for?

Creped film and its silicone-coated version are solutions for:

  • manufacturers of industrial and construction tapes,
  • companies in the roofing and insulation sectors,
  • businesses involved in roof repair and protection,
  • manufacturers of automotive and technical components,
  • companies creating waterproofing systems,
